Recommended Reads

We love reading at Birchwood Avenue and regular reading is particularly important in the early years. Below you can find a suggested list of recommended reads but we would also love to hear about any books that our children have loved reading at home. 

If you read a book at home it can be useful to encourage your child to talk about the book, to draw characters from it or to act out the story. All these things help to make the books memorable and promote reading for pleasure.
