Phonics and Early Reading

We use a systematic synthetic phonics programme called Read Write Inc. All children in Reception and Year 1 have daily Phonics in small groups using these materials. Year 2 continue to be taught phonics through the year while transitioning off the phonics programme and onto whole class guided reading. All children in the school have a daily whole class reading lesson once they have completed the phonics programme.
