Welcome to Year 5K- Seacole class!

Welcome to 5K! In our class we are kind, resilient and respectful learners. We love to challenge ourselves and support our friends. Most importantly in 5K we always try our best. Please take some time to look at our learning journey as we progress though the year- we are all so proud of the things we do at Birchwood and we are very excited to share them with you .

Why Seacole class?

All our classes at Birchwood Avenue are named after inspirational British people. Mary Seacole was a nurse during the Crimean War. Her offer to help was refused but she decided that she would not give up. She set off to the Crimean on her own and set up a hotel where wounded soldiers could be treated. She helped so many people that she became known as Mother Seacole. We chose her for our class name because she was determined to help as many people as she could, without thinking of herself.
