Remote-Learning is a style of education, whereby pupils access all their learning through electronic and online media. Effective remote teaching is determined by ‘many of the same factors that determine the effectiveness of live classroom teaching’. For example:
ensuring pupils receive clear explanations;
supporting growth in confidence with new material through scaffolded practice;
application of new knowledge or skills;
enabling pupils to receive feedback on how to progress.
Whilst children are away from their normal learning environment, it is essential to try and recreate elements of the interactivity and dialogue of the classroom, whilst being remote, as it is not only beneficial for wellbeing but effective in leading to better progress and outcomes.

We know that learning for our children has changed dramatically over night and we want to ensure that you feel supported throughout this change. We are using Google Classroom as our main platform for remote learning and this 'cheats guide' should help you when you are unsure how something works - from logging in, submitting work or to just being able to say hi.
If you need to contact you child's teacher about their remote learning, please use the class email address to contact the member of staff directly. Staff should answer your queries within 24 hours. Please find your child's class email address below:
Keeping Children Safe Online
